If this is done at immigration (Promenada) are you required to show airline tickets also?

I would not wait until the day before! As others have said, counting of days does not begin until you enter Thailand. Good luck!

thank you! I guess I will find out today when I go. I’ll have passport, old TM 30, new rental agreement, and TM 28. I’ll report back.

I did have one for old residence, so I will do that, thanks! Is there anything else? I’m thinking I can probably go to second floor office in Promenada as that is where I always did my notifications when returning with my TM 30.

I just extended my ED visa for 90 days on April 11, and the cost was 1900 baht. Not Samui office, but I’m not sure why it would be different. My extension was stamped until July 15. I may have to leave the country in June because my kids visas expire, but I’m going to get a letter from my school, pay for a re-entry permit, and hope for the best. As long as my extension doesn’t expire while I am gone, I’m counting on being able to stay in good status with my ED visa. Maybe you can do this too.

Hi Hannelore, I hope your school will give you some assistance with filing out your school paperwork. Here’s a shortlist of what you need.

1. What you bring with you from Thailand—Paperwork from school, including the letter from Ministry of Education. You will also need 2 photos with WHITE background and I would recommend you take those with you. Bring 2 photocopies of your passport because you will need them at Consulate. (Though you will have to go to the copy machine anyway at Consulate to photocopy your Loas tourist visa.) Bring your TM30 and your Departure card TM6 to use when you exit Thailand.

2. To enter Loas you need to fill out a tourist visa application and pay, price depends on your nationality.

3. At Thai Consulate in Vientiane, you can get the form for ED visa application. I would recommend you go before the opening time of 8:30 and not on a Monday or a Friday. Drop off is until 11:00am, and you may be waiting in line for 1-2 hours depending on the day. Pick up is the following afternoon.

There are lots of other tips concerning Travel and accommodations but I don’t know where you are coming from and you may already have that figured out.
