TM 30 question: I just moved to a new residence in Chiang Mai. I signed rental agreement with landlord and he said he would do TM30 for me the same day. When I asked him for the “receipt of notification” that I must carry in my passport, he said he didn’t have it because he did the filing online. He said he always does it online and never goes to immigration. How do I get my receipt of notification? If I go to immigration, what do I show in order to get it?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Upon moving to a new residence, it's essential to obtain the TM30 receipt of notification from your landlord, who should file it online. If your landlord doesn't provide a physical receipt, you can ask them to print the proof of submission from the online filing system. Additionally, if you previously filed a TM30 for another residence, you must file a TM28 to officially report your change of address at the immigration office.

Hi Molly. We do it online and then we have to print out the proof that we did it from their website. Its a bit confusing because there is no "print document" option and we just save the whole page showing the name and print the page, take that with you. Thats "proof" enough.

Oh i see you were telling me and not asking a question. Lol. Ok cool! Well that's helpful for people 😊 personally didn't know because they made us do this since 2014.

You see, I filled in myself after my landlord registered and got a username and password.

Maybe call immigration and ask them.

the same way, the thai owner can apply online for a username and password. ;)

No because its for my guesthouse. So they actually came to set it up for me and show me how it works. So I am not sure how it would work for private residence.

@Kischa ******
did you have problems getting a log in etc to use the online system ?

If you filled a TM30 report for your old residence you have to go to Immigration to file the TM28 report, change of address. You can download here:

Robert Connell Ok. I will leave you too it because your not understanding between a received receipt and a sent receipt. Even immigration cannot print a TM30 as such. Hence they are hand written and stamped.

@Ron ******
they printed it for me, and all the others living there

@Robert ********
what they are giving you is the sent receipt. You can print that.

Napkornping Condo would do TM30s for me online and give me a printed receipt. No, I don't know how, I just know they would, so it can be done

fair enough - never done one online. There's no rush as long as it's in the system but at some point they will want that slip no matter how stupid the concept is - that point will be a 90 day report, extension or similar interaction.
Ron *******
Duncan Riley he can't print a slip out because there's no option to be able to print it out.

Never even heard of a TM28 before be it I've just Googled it. In CM, just submit a new TM30. If he's already filed it see if he'll give you a print out and you can get the slip stamped. If he can't, go to Promenada and explain the situation - they might be able to print the slip out for you - and stupidly, despite the ability to file online, they are really, really anal about you having that stamped slip at the back of your passport if you go to do anything in the future.
Ron *******
This is an issue when a TM30 is filed online. There is no option to print a receipt that they have actually received it although you can print a sent receipt.

thank you! I guess I will find out today when I go. I’ll have passport, old TM 30, new rental agreement, and TM 28. I’ll report back.

Not that I know off.

I did have one for old residence, so I will do that, thanks! Is there anything else? I’m thinking I can probably go to second floor office in Promenada as that is where I always did my notifications when returning with my TM 30.
