I Require DTV.

Hi all I have 6 weeks left before travelling, I am about to apply for a DTV but still don't have a soft power. I have tried messaging various Yoga classes but they have either shut down or can't help. What is the easiest soft power to obtain to help get a DTV. I appreciate any help guys. Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone, I’m feeling stressed and a bit confused, so I wanted to ask for some advice.

I recently applied through an agent, (recommended by a friend) for the DTV.

Before paying they said absolutely all the procedure and payments were online transactions.

Once I paid them and the 6 months cooking school, they said I should pay the embassy fee in person.

This was initially something I asked and they said very clearly that was no need to visit the embassy.

Im in India and should take a flight to reach Mumbai.

I paid my monthly rent where I live and though they only spoke about just paying in person, now they suggested me to stay for a couple of weeks in Mumbai till the procedure is finish.

I tried to call Mumbai embassy and the number I can find online doesn’t exist.

The agents can not provide a proper number.

They also mentioned about a case of someone who was granted a 6 months visa at this consulate instead of 5 years, after paying a 6 months soft power. So they encouraged me to pay one year soft power.

I didn’t…

Did anyone have a similar experience? How is about the embassy payments?

Does anyone have a contact of Thai Mumbai consulate?

I would really appreciate your comments .

*half an hour ago the agent said that they will refund their fee.

He didn’t mention about the soft power payment I made.

However, being in India and having to start again, what do you suggest me?

Do I need the soft power if I do it myself and should I travel to Thailand and then leave to Vietnam or Laos to go on with the process? How many days can take?

My idea is to spend there around 2 years or so..

Thank you in advance 🙏

Hi everyone,

I would like to apply for the DTV as a freelancer. I work in dropshipping with a friend, and we operate one online store together. We share the income generated from that website.

My friend has already used this same website as proof of income for his DTV application. Would I be able to use the same source of income for my application as well, or is it likely to be rejected?

Thank you in advance for your advice.

Hi, does anyone know the current processing time for a tourist visa? We applied 2 weeks ago, still no update and our flight is next week.

Last time, about 2 years ago, it took us about 10 days to get it. Any other advice besides emailing the embassy?

Hi everyone,

I saw someone post that they were rejected twice, and I wanted to share my experience and ask for advice, since I’ve also been rejected twice in 2025. Honestly, I’m now afraid to apply again.

Both times I applied at the Hanoi embassy(which I now realize may have been a mistake)

After first rejection, I went to embassy to get any information and the staff at the counter told me deposit could be issue. (May be I said because all my documents are legit and I couldn’t think any reason of what could wrong but my full deposit is over 2 months. So I think they just follow what I said).

So after I wait around 4 more months, I applied again same embassy since I thought they said deposit is issue. So now I fixed it and it’s better to go same embassy. But second time also rejected in 3 days after pending approval.

I applied under remote job. I work in IT.

My company is based on Singapore. My salary is fixed 50k THB(2000SGD) plus overtime bonus.

I worked in Thailand before with work permit for over 2 years. And after that stayed with Thai ed for around 2years while I’m working as freelance. So my salary goes to my Thai bank which comes from Singapore. I have also proof email payslips.

Deposit bank is also another Thai bank which has over 500k seasoning around 1 year now. I don’t have actual contract as when I’ve been working with this company for long as started with like freelance. But since now I want to apply DTV as actually I’m working as full name. My company provide me contract and recommendation letters. But I don’t have any proof since I got it in person(some agent said contract and recommendation letter from email ). This documents have my company stamps and employer signatures.

In my application, I submitted

1. company profile registered in sg

2. employer ID

3. payslips(6months)

4. 500k deposit bank ( first time over 2 months length, second time over 6months length)

5. Recommendation letter with employer signature and company stamp

6. Employer contract with employer, employee signatures and company stamp

I would really appreciate any insight into what might be wrong with my application. In particular:

1. Is my salary too low?

2. Is it a problem that my income is paid into a Thai bank account?

3. Does my employment contract need improvement or additional proof?

I’m feeling quite lost at this point and would truly appreciate any advice or experiences you can share.

Thank you so much—I really appreciate your help in advance.

A few questions about applying DTV through soft power

Hi everyone,I’m applying DTV through soft power. There’re two questions:

1. I don’t have job at this time, my income is from my stock investments and house rent, should I fill the occupation blank with freelance or unemployed? I think unemployed is more accurate for my situation, but I’m worried about if unemployed could get more chance in rejection?

2. I wonder how did you answer the question about the plan after the course in the next 5 years.

Any real experience or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot!

Hi everyone, I need some advice about re-applying for a Thai DTV visa.

I had two recent rejections:

• One application was submitted in Cambodia

• One application was submitted in Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh)

The situation became complicated because of an agent’s mistake:

After the Cambodia application was delayed, the agent cancelled it and immediately submitted a new one in Ho Chi Minh, so both processes overlapped.

Just to clarify: both applications were submitted while I was outside Thailand — first in Cambodia, then in Vietnam after I flew there

Now I want to apply by myself, without any agent.

My questions:

How long should I wait after two rejections before applying again?

Is there any official cooling-off period in the Thai system?

Does it matter which country I apply from (Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia)?

Any real experience or advice would be greatly appreciated. 🙏

Soft power “how you intend to support yourself and future plans”

Hello everyone, I am applying for a 6 months Muay Thai course.

I practice this sport in Europe too, therefore a soft power DTV is perfect for my goals.

I currently have 800K in bank account, so over the 500K requested.

Plus I get every month from normal part time work in my country about 1000 euros.

If the embassy asks “how you intend to support yourself”, is it okay to simply say savings? Connecting it to their second question “what’s your plan after the 6 months course” basically I would like to keep practicing Muay Thai in Thailand, but I will probably need to come back to my home country for at least 3 months to finish my job contract. I am focusing on opening a business for online income for the future, but right now a normal job is the only thing I can do.

Is it okay for the application to state savings & come back to my country? Or should I say something different in the Cover Letter like saving & apply for a new Muay Thai course?

Need advice, thank you 🙏

I got rejected & want to share my experience + hopefully get some advice on what to do next 🙏

I applied for the dtv visa at my Norwegian embassy as a remote worker. I had over 500k in my account and i showed proof of earnings from a foreign company.

I got rejected due to not holding 500k over the past 3 months, as i acquired the final amount the same month i applied. (This is understandable, even tho it did not state i had to keep it for that long in the application)

The other reason i got rejected was because i was earning too little compared to the average Norwegian salary. (They stated the average salary should be around 70k $ a year...)

I now plan to re-apply in desember as i have then held the money for over 3 months. The initial plan was to apply in Saigon but i have recently read its a high case of denied applications. Therefore i was wondering if anyone has any recent experience with the embassy in Manilla. If so, i would be really happy for any advice ☺️

I also plan to change my application to soft power activity (Muay Thai), because it seems like this way has a higher chance of getting approved.
