yes, that one lists Asalha Bucha Day as a holiday on 27 July. The site you posted looks more official than the other one, though not sure if it is THE official gov site.

Ok, I was confused because July 27 is a public holiday (Asalha Bucha), but apparently the consulate is open that day.

all went smoothly for us, too. I was overseas and did not change address. Got back to Thailand on Friday, went in on Monday. Chiang Mai Promenada office.

Erik I totally understand this question has been asked a lot, but in Chiang Mai in particular, in the past there were huge issues for people when completing this paperwork, and people were being fined a lot and having other problems. There was a lot of confusion about many aspects of it, not simply changing address but doing it the first and subsequent times. So I think everyone is just hugely relieved that it seems that this is not such a big issue anymore.

How did it go for everyone? My partner is doing it for me and I will report back this evening.

I will be going to Chiang Mai Promenada office to do TM30 on Monday, May 21. I will post update afterwards. If anyone has any tips please let me know. THANKS!

thanks for the info. excuse me, I am not sure I understand about the insurance. You are listed on your son's insurance policy in England, so they would not let you get care insurance for the rental vehicle?

Jamie I know you got a lot of comments, but I just want to mention one simple fact, especially if this is your first time in south east Asia. It is far more common here to be hired with much shorter notice, basically to find a job when you are here in person. This is quite different from many other countries' hiring practices, where there is a lot more planning. Every place is different, of course. International schools have a longer hiring process. But overall, you can almost always always always work directly with a school. An agent by their nature is s taking money out of your pocket. And, you can do all paperwork yourself or with help of your school. That is what the vast majority of people do. Just FYI I am in chiang mai, been here 8 years, let me know if you have some questions.

The can indeed find ways to get money out here f you up front, or get you to work without pay.
