I thought I'd posted that I called both consulates but I don't see it :/

Vientiane is closed the 27th and the 30th

Savannakhet is only closed on the 30th.

Keep in mind there are TWO thai consulates in Lao, one in Vientiane and one in Savannakhet. The usually have the same closing dates BUT the calendars that show closings at the consulates are totally different.

Savannakhet isn't listed as being closed on the 27th BUT Vientiane is.

yes, that one lists Asalha Bucha Day as a holiday on 27 July. The site you posted looks more official than the other one, though not sure if it is THE official gov site.

Ok, I was confused because July 27 is a public holiday (Asalha Bucha), but apparently the consulate is open that day.
