How does TM30 work for a visa run if I'm staying one night in Khon Kaen before returning to Chiang Mai?

TM30 question: I will do a visa run and on returning to Thailand, stay in Khon Kaen one night before returning to CHIANG MAI. How does Tm30 work in that case? Do I need to make sure that my hotel in Khon Kaen fills out the TM30 so that I don't have a problem in Chiang Mai? Do I need to get a receipt? I have heard of people having trouble when hotels say they complete the Tm30 and actually don't. But I don't know how Chiang Mai is treating a case like this, and their 24 hour rule for the TM30 when staying in another city before returning to Chiang Mai. Any advice?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The TM30 form is a notification that hotels and accommodations in Thailand must file with the immigration office when a foreigner checks in. When you stay one night in Khon Kaen and then return to Chiang Mai, it's important that your hotel in Khon Kaen correctly fills out the TM30 form on your behalf. This ensures that your presence is properly registered, preventing potential problems in Chiang Mai upon your return. It is recommended to request a copy or receipt as proof that the hotel has submitted the TM30 form. There have been issues reported by other expats regarding hotels claiming they submitted the TM30, yet they haven't. Chiang Mai has specific regulations and a 24-hour rule regarding TM30 compliance, hence it’s crucial to ensure that everything is filed correctly during your brief stay in Khon Kaen.
