400k for marriage Non-O: If I have 50k in my bank, and then I do an international transfer of 400k, do I need to leave all 450k in the bank for the marriage Non-O? Will taking out 50k (and still leaving 400k) screw things up? Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a Non-O marriage visa, you must transfer 400K baht into a bank account in your name. There are no requirements to keep any additional funds beyond this amount. However, it's critical to maintain a balance of at least 400K until you finalize the visa process.

the requirement to get the Non-O visa is you transfer in to a bank account in your name only 400K baht from abroad. That is it, there is no rule about any money in excess of 400K. Do what you want with it but don't let the balance get BELOW 400K once you start the process.

Does it have to be from abroad specifically? I can put 400k in but itll be from a couple different sources one of which is Thai based

For the initial 90 day Non-O visa based on marriage using banked money you have to transfer the 400K baht in from outside the country.

It cannot originate inside the country.

Ok thanks. How can you prove this? Will a bank statement from your Thai bank suffice?

the code on the bank book shows it if was an international or domestic transfer..

Thanks. Ok. I'm glad I know this now. One final question (hopefully!). Once I apply for the initial 90 day non O visa and get it I can then apply for a year extension?

you can apply for the year extension when you have 30 days or less left on that new 90 day stamp you get when they issue you the 90 day non-O visa. AND at that time the 400K baht needs to be in your thai bank account for 2 months before you apply
