No refunds. But, it is not like they just deny you and make you pay again. Usually, if your supporting documents do not suffice, they ask for more documents and give you chances to get it right.

Nowhere. Cause it is not correct. Unlimited entries during 5 years. One extension possible at EACH entry.

@Jim *******
Absolutely. Never claimed anything else. All extensions on the DTV are optional. Can bounce borders every 180 days, in theory.

Like that. Only ONE extension possible per entry. Then you need to leave and re-enter and can do another extension (if you want to).

And beyond theory and legality and the uncertainty of such an endeavor aside: I think having to border bounce every 60 days, even if it were possible, would be neither convenient nor cheaper than just getting a visa like the DTV.

That is a misinterpretation. While the 2 times per calendar year limit on visa exemption land border crossings seemed to have fallen, that doesn’t mean visa exemption entries will be tolerated in lieu of a correct long term visa.

I am all set, too. Just saying. But you are right. DTV allows for little to no touch points with immigration offices within Thailand. Technically, the 90 day reporting, though.

Sadly, we likely won’t get rid of that TM.30 nonsense altogether. Still required when needing an even more nonsense paper, the “residence certificate” - which is needed to renew driving license, registering vehicles, opening bank accounts.

Driving License: Fingers crossed on the 5 year driving license. I mean it’s a 5 year visa, so a 5 year driving license would make sense. But maybe that is exactly why it won’t be possible - too much sense. 😅 I am so annoyed of having to get a new DL every 2 years again and again with all the documents (residence certificate, medical, etc.) required. Even every 5 year is an annoyingly short validity for a DL and Thais need to do this annoying renewal, too.

Bank Account: I don’t think the DTV will help much with that either. Even with the LTR (which is actually meant for temporary residency) it is not a walk in the park.

Interesting. Yet unusual choice of participating countries.
