Hello, I am US citizen applying for DTV workcation from Ho Chi Minh City consulate with my Russian wife as dependent. We're hoping to get this done this month before early April.

Financial proof wise I have an official investment brokerage proof-of-funds letter showing my assets well past the threshold required for this visa (for the both of us), plus a US bank statement from March showing my monthly income in March. Has anyone been approved at HCM using a brokerage/investment letter rather than a traditional bank statement (or were in a similar situation)? How many months of statements did they want and how recent? I earn enough to qualify for both of us but the cash comes to my account every few months, so I am wondering how particular they are about proof of funds.

I'm a freelancer with with no employment contract. What did your portfolio look like. Did a simple 1-2 page document listing clients, services marketing profiles and income work, or did they want more? Did they ask for a cover letter too?

For my wife, our Russian marriage certificate has an apostille and notarized English translation. Will this be accepted? And can my wife submit her dependent application simultaneously with mine online, or does she have to wait until my visa is approved first?

Any recent or similar experiences please share!

DTV Approved!

Remote worker. Embassy in Stockholm Sweden.

It was surprisingly easy. More documents requested after 4 business days (tax declaration), 2 business days later I was approved.

I'm 25 and want to stay here long-term. I'd like to work remotely from Thailand in the future. Which visa is easiest to get for this?

And can I still work remotely with a Muay Thai visa? Does anyone have experience with this?

Hi, my proof of funds is in a 'Gold Account' at my bank. The statement shows the total value in Turkish Lira, covering the 500,000 THB requirement. Is this acceptable, or do I need to convert it to cash before applying?

I'm looking at retirement in Thailand in March. I am taking my pet with me and advised to get the online 90 tourist visa and then apply through a agent for the retirement visa. Will the 90 visa be a problem with my pet.

Two questions. I'm going to Hanoi to apply for the DTV. I'm a freelancer, with short term/project contracts. 1) Is a letter from clients confirming I'm a freelancer enough for the work certificate requirement? 2) I note some freelancers go the soft power route. Any recs for a Chiang Mai cooking school that meets that the DTV requirements? Is that the easier route?

Hi All. I’m hoping to retire early to Thailand. I’ve got a lot of info from other members posts, but just recently I read a comment from someone comparing the cost of a retirement visa for Thailand with Vietnam. He stated 65k for Thailand and $25 for Vietnam. Could someone please give me an idea of the yearly costs for retirement visas, so I can factor this into my monthly outgoings before I make a decision on how early I can retire.

TIA Steve 👍

Hi All,

Can I apply for a Thai Non-Immigrant Visa Type O while traveling in the Philippines, or do I need to do it back in my home country? If it’s possible to apply there, is the payment made online, or do I need to schedule an appointment at the Thai Embassy in Manila? TIA

- Free visa ending on 19th of September

- 500k+ in my Kasikorn bank account deposited in the next few days (no 3 month record)

- been freelancing here and there and have some incomes from payment gateways from my country and also international Stripe & Whop

- had ED visa before and multiple tourist visas

- currently in Bangkok

- short personal letter

- no current work or income

What’s my best option? And which consulate?

1. Applying by myself to a Workation freelance DTV right now with what i have

2. Applying by myself with a muay thai gym package and invitation letter

3. Waiting 3 months with the money in the bank and then applying

4. Using an agency to help me apply to either Workation or Soft power

5. Applying for a 1 year work permit visa instead of DTV

Thank you for your help and comments.

DTV approved! Went through the HCMC embassy with cooking classes through the House of taste Thailand.

Embassy asked me for a letter explaining how I will support myself and a letter from the cooking school. The house of taste were super quick to provide me with it. They were very helpful. Total turnaround was 5 business days
