Oh yes: Despite passport, I needed a Residence Certificate - obtainable at the immigration office against coffee money.

Bangkok Bank recently opened on TR Tourist Visa. Full online and mobile banking account. When offered UnionPay, I asked for MasterCard or Visa (MasterCard they had alternatively). In Thailand unfortunately one annoying things occurs everywhere ... be it immigration or banking ... you go to different offices or talk to different people of the very same organization and get vastly different results. That sucks but is was it is. Just go shopping for favorable conditions across different branches / offices.

As always, this may unfortunately be handled inconsistently across different immigration offices. Best to go there and they will hand you a list of required supporting documents. Note however that change to work visa will likely only be done by the immigration

office at the location of your future employer.

If they vaccinated 70% of Phuket’s residents up until then. Very big IF.

That would be for change of visa category to Non-Immigrant based on marriage to a Thai citizen or Non-Immigrant based on having a Thai child, then. I guess. Right? 🥳

Some offices may still ask for a letter, but will then also settle with an email from your embassy stating they don’t issue such stupid letters.

Why not? Normally they prioritize the ability to pay food money above all other interests. 🤐

Appearantly quite some things if following the recent news. Not as effective and bigger likelihood on side effects. So I’d prefer a different one given the choice. Just personal preference.

That is the common rumors of what may be happening some distant day in the future, yes. But I was hoping for something more concrete.

Looks like one of the "good" vaccines are still far away :-(
