Not Thailand related vs. the "everything else" part of this group - has anyone applied for a Vietnam e-visa in the last year or so? I have some questions - I haven't been to Vietnam since COVID before an e-visa was an option. It's currently cheaper for me to fly and stay in Da Nang than Hua Hin from CNX - that was the choice :)

Do you get a printout that you can use in the immigration queue vs. the old VOA you have to get preapproval for, then queue up for an hour or two on arrival to get it before then going through immigration? Am I correct in thinking the e-visa doesn't involve a full-page visa sticker in my passport?

Also, for those who have applied, how long did it take. The website says three days.

I already have a multi-re-entry stamp for my two-year Thai extension of stay and I don't qualify for visa-exempt/free entry into Vietnam.

Hello Visa advice friends!

Photo (from my first trip to Thailand in 2019) for attention.

I'm a Canadian traveling to Thailand from Vietnam. As I understand it , I'm able to get a visa exception for 30 days. Plan is to land in Bangkok next week, by air. I was wondering if someone can a) confirm this and b) tell me if I need to arrive with anything documentation-wise (ie: ticket out of Thailand , proof of accommodation, bank statements ect). The only info I could find was quite old, and with the ever changing landscape of Thai immigration-- I figured it couldn't hurt to ask here.

Any clarification would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Sawasdee krap. Well I have arrived in Bangkok yesterday and everything was so simple at immigration. Wasn’t ask for any proof of any kind. No need to prove how much money I had or insurance for my holiday. I had everything printed, my flight data and my hotel reservation but asked for nothing. I got my passport stamped from December 21st to Feb 3rd and away I went. Happy days. Now to discover Thailand and see what it has to offer.

Sharing my return-to-Thailand-with-a-passport-full-of-covid-extensions experience, for those to whom it may help...

After 2 full years of living in Thailand on the extension program I was warned that, regardless of how long I had been out of country (5 months), trying to return to Thailand that I should expect to be hassled at least and refused entry at worst. Turns out that re-entering through BKK was not difficult at all. But there were 2 particulars that made it frictionless;

-An issued receipt that showed where I was going to be living for the duration of stay

-Proof of onward travel. (this one was most certainly pivotal, since not only did they ask this at BKK immigration but also in Phnom Penh at the airport check-in counter before I even left. I'm assuming that enough people were getting turned around at BKK arrival for them to start asking this question to travelers before they even departed. But this is just an assumption).

At the additional recommendation of the awesome Tod Daniels I also bought +20k B cash, but this was never asked for. This might be non-news for most now, but absolutely nothing covid related (test, vaccination) was even brought up at any point from departure to arrival. What a turnaround from even just a few months ago.

Cheers...

Hi all. I'm planning on going to Thailand for the 3rd time this year, and wondering if it's best to get a tourist visa or go visa exempt to minimise problems at immigration. (Dutch passport holder).

I spent 6 weeks (43 days) in Feb/Mar (visa exempt + extension)

I spent almost 3 months (83 days) in May-July (tourist visa + extension).

I now want to come at the end of Sept for another 4 weeks (28 days). This would bring the total amount of time spent in Thailand this calendar year to 5.5 months..

While I first thought that a tourist visa would be the safer option, I'm not sure if they would question why I got a tourist visa if I'm staying 4 weeks and could get in on visa exempt.

Hi there, just a question since most of the travel restrictions have been lifted. We are Unvaccinated and will do a Antigen test since this seems still to be the rule, okay we can deal with that.

We do however have kids. Are they excempt from that? Or from what age? We would never have them tested so it would be great from what age they are excempt.

Appreciate any advise.

Hello, I need to do an emergency visa run from Vietnam and was considering Thailand. I read there's a 30 days visa on arrival for French.

Do I need to fill any form or application before arriving?

Also i don't know how long i will have to stay exactly (7 to 15 days) is it mandatory to have a flight ticket to go out before the 30 days?

Do I need to show my vaccinations or to show a recent covid test?

Thank you very much for your help
