Hi, my son’s 30 day stamp expires 12th of august - it’s a public holiday. He needs to get 30 days more extension because he’s flying back to US 24th august. I wonder if they’ll give him 30 days more on 13th if his previous stamp expired already or does he have time fly out ?

Hi everyone! I’ve got a quick question about the 30 day extension of my visa exemption. From what I’ve read on previous posts, I need to go to IT Square Laksi for this. How early in advance of the expiration is one allowed to request the extension? And if I do go a week or two in advance, does the extension period start the day I get the extension or the day the original visa exemption expires? I’ll be on Koh Tao the week before I need my extension and then there will be the public holidays around new year, so I’m hoping to avoid going last minute on the 3rd of January (my visa ends on the 4th). Thank you in advance for your help!

ATTENTION MEMBERS - UPDATE

IMMIGRATION OFFICE CLOSURES July and August 2023

Immigration offices nationwide will be closed on:

**Friday 28 July: H.M. King Maha Vajiralongkorn’s Birthday

Monday 31 July: Special Holiday <- added**

**Tuesday 1 August: Asalha Bucha

Wednesday 2 August: Khao Phansa Buddhist Lent Day**

Monday 14 August: Substitution for The Queen Mother Sirikit's Birthday & Mother's Day

Plan accordingly.

* Land borders are open like normal during holidays.

* Check before you go if there were other reasons for that border checkpoint to be closed

If you have a stamp that is expiring during holidays when the immigration offices are closed and you show up at the immigration office on the very next working day you will NOT be fined for overstay and can get your extension like normal. But you will get an overstay stamp in your passport that says; "overstay xxx days, fine waived due to holiday/closure".

I'm booked to arrive in Chiangmai on Saturday evening Nov.5 and will need to file my TM 30 on Monday. Is the immigration office closed in that week due to Loy Krathong? It doesn't seem to be showing up as a holiday period?
