DTV Visa - appplication KL

It took me 6 working days to get my visa.

I applied Tuesday, they asked for additional documents Friday late afternoon, I delivered yesterday afternoon, approval today!

NOTE:

They still require you to go to the embassy of the country, where your employers company is located to authenticate your contract + company's registration/business license.

DO THAT before you send the documents to the Thai Embassy and it save you time.

As this requirement was off their website, I thought the online process changed that - but no, they still require it!

The US embassy let me in without an upfront booked appointment, but I would not count on this.

I am positive, if I'd delivered the US Embassy authentication letter straight on Friday, I'd have the visa already on Monday.

Soooo

I’m doing my 1 year extension on my O A this week (it expires in December).

I returned from a short overseas trip yesterday and for some reason the IO gave me a visa expiration date of 29 November 2025!

I’ll still do my normal extension anyway but thought this was weird.

These are the documents i submitted:

1.Two application forms

2. Two passport size photos

3. UAE residence visa copy

4. Passport copy and original passport

5. Employment contract stating I'm allowed to work remotely

6.Salary certificate (it was either this or employment contract, but i submitted both)

7. Booking.com confirmation

8. Flight to thailand

9. Onward ticket from thailand matching the date of checkout date of my hotel reservation.

10. Bank statement (e-statement) with 500,000 THB ( i just deposited the money one day before applying

They did ask me to login to the app to check the balance and confirm the iban

After submission on the 8th i got my receipt asking to pick up my passport on the 12th

So basically two working days

Anyone applying from UAE, i recommend going to Abu Dhabi

Picked my passport with visa today, so it was worth the drive

I've submitted my DTV application on 29th OCT and got pending approval on 30th OCT. Now, it's been two weeks. I applied at Phenom Penh Thai Embassy Cambodia. Has anyone experienced how long it takes although it says 10 working days. I'm worried and waiting. 🙁

December / New Year’s immigration office closures.

Please be aware that immigration offices around the country will be closed on these dates (other than usual weekend closures).

Thursday 5th December

Tuesday 10th December

Saturday 28th December until Wednesday 1st January.

Offices will re-open on Thursday 2nd January.

Many offices are busy following a closure day and will be super busy after a 5 day closure.

If you can avoid going on those days it’s probably best to do so.

Office closures do not affect airports, nor land or sea borders.
