I opened up Kasikorn account at a small store branch office in Khon Kaen with my wife doing all the talking. Deposited 1000 BHT with no issues. Had to provide a paper from immigration to certify my address and passport. I think the gal thought I was opening it up for a marriage visa. Anyhow the biggest problem was that she wanted to sign my name exactly the same on every document.
Yes. They saw my wife and I go to the foreigners line where it looked like a couple of hundred were waiting and we got escorted to Thai line where only two were waiting. And we got a lot of „How come he gets to go in that line“
Ok. When I wrote the hospital today, I told them Specifically that I was applying for a DTV soft power using this appointment, and I asked them to send me the appropriate paperwork. So, I guess I will have to wait and see what the send me.
If it is a Thai government issued document you don’t need to get it legalized for use in Thailand. With that said, if you are using it for another country, you need to go by the rules of that country. For example to get something legalized by the German Consulate you have to use the list of translators that they approve. Get it translated and then bring the documents to the consulate and they will put their magic stamps on it. On the other hand if it is for use in the U.S., the U.S. dose not use magic stamps, but just wants the document translated to English and the translators phone number, address and name along with a statement that they are fluent in both English and Thai. In any event the path you go down depends on what you are trying to do.
I don’t think they look to hard concerning medical issues. I am going to do it with my annual physical at BKK hospital. Remember, you can get a DTV for a basket weaving class.
Note if you have your Thai wife with you at passport control you end up going in a line where the officer may not speak any English, since the line is for Thai nationals that can’t use the autogates. So you don’t seem to get questioned much.
