On a completely different matter, when I arrived at Suvanabhumi Airport on 08/11/2025, I was given a 60 days visa exemption stamp and assured that this could be extended by another 30 days. Today, 05/01/2026, I went to Korat Immigration office, to be told that there has since been a change in that policy - and now only a SEVEN days extension is granted ! As my return flight to Europe is on 28/01/2026, I will have to leave Thailand on 13/01, probably into Laos and obtain another entry stamp - but the Immigration Officer was not sure for what period that will be given ! If it's only going to be for another 7 days, then I could be facing a substantial penalty on finally exiting the country ! Anyone had any similar experience and know for what period a new entry stamp is granted ??
I have a couple of doubts that I hope you skilled people can help me resolve.
I’m planning on entering Thailand with an exemption visa in circa a week from Vietnam through Bangkok airport. I was thinking, once there, maybe after a month or something, asking for a Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa.
First question is if you think it is possible to ask for this type of visa while already in the country with an exemption visa.
Second question is I’ve read that the visa is six months long for up to 60 days stays, i was wondering if it means that I can entry the country for 6 months or I can stay in the country 6 months. What I mean is what if I stay 60 days in the country and 30 in another country and then get back for other 60 days etc, would it work for more then a year? Just trying to understand how it works.
I hope my question was clear as English is not my first language 🙂
Does anyone know what the rules are for United Kingdom tourists to Thailand. I think the Uk is visa exempt and on some sites it says we are only allowed into Thailand twice per calendar year, and on other it says if you fly you can go in 3 times. I have already been there for 30 days in Jan and 30 days in May and I want to book a flight to Bangkok but am not sure if I will be accepted in. Any ideas please.
