Some do already know. Buddy of mine has bounced three times since he got the DTV. Third time just a few days ago, and got a fresh 180-day stamp, absolutely no questions asked.Anonymous ******************

It doesn’t mean it will continue to work that way for the next 5 years. 🤔 Documents are required when extending or renewing other types of visas. Random immigration checks are conducted at border crossings (not often, but they do happen). Why would the DTV be exempt from this? People need to wait for the first extensions to get an idea, even though everything is subject to change.Steve ********
Anonymous participant 846 There's nothing to suggest it won't work either. Many people have already been bouncing out and in without a problem. So as things stand now there's no problems. Of course we can speculate forever about what "might" happen, but I think for now it's best to give correct information on what is actually happening

No it is a 5 year , as long as you leave and reenter every 6 mos.
If you try an extend another 6 months in Thailand you may have to prove $$ and qualifications again.
This is not entirely confirmed yet as no one has done an incountry extension so far.
