This question often arises, and many advise not to pursue it. I visited the local tax office as I hold stocks and shares in the UK. I informed Hargreaves Lansdown that I was now residing in Thailand and was told that until I obtained a Thai tax ID (TIN), I could not take any action with my funds. While I could sell my assets, I was unable to transfer the proceeds out of the account. Obtaining the TIN was straightforward, and once I provided the number to my broker, Hargreaves Lansdown, everything was resolved.

I done my driving licence in Roi-Et a few months ago and I had shorts on as did 95% of the local people but that's Roi-Et issan others maybe different. On a different subject but with shorts in the subject, when I got married western style my friend came to my wedding from the UK he asked what do I need to wear I said smart casual, I said the Thai men will wear what ever shorts and t-shirts they have, he couldn't believe it when he came and yes the ladies look lovely in the best dresses and the men in their shorts and t-shirts.

Miyamoto Musashi If I transfer money from the UK via Wise it now always takes a day or more, we're Krungsri is within 10 seconds. Some people have said on FB chat that Bangkok bank has closed their account, I've never had a problem apart from Wise.

John Wenman You Def right about the IDP the lady told my wife where did he get this from I told her from a online site in Phuket, she said it's not worth the paper it's on or equivalent in Thai. She said it needs to have a photo not a printed photo.
