My question is how much does it cost to get a 1 year visa marriage or retirement I have 800k in the bank now.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a 1-year visa for marriage or retirement in Thailand, you initially need to apply for a 90-day Non-Immigrant Type O visa, which costs 2000 baht for a single entry and 5000 baht for a multiple entry. After the initial 90 days, you can obtain a 1-year extension of stay based on marriage or retirement, which costs an additional 1900 baht.

There is no one year VISA available inside thailand
You would apply for a 90 day Non-Immigrant Type O visa <- the O means other and is issued for marriage or retirment. That visa costs 2000baht,
THEN once the 90 days you get from that visa run down you'd get a year "extension of stay" based on marriage or retirement and that costs 1900baht

There is no such thing as a multi-entry visa sold inside thailand 😕 When you buy ANY visa inside the country they are sold without ANY entry permit because you're already here. They are all sold as 90 day ones and after that you get a year extension.
s if you're going to get the visa based on marriage to a thai (which is 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only) OR based on retirement (which is 800K baht in a thai bank account in your name only).
What entry stamp did you come in on? What stamp are you on now and how much time do you have left on it?
I guess he got the Non-O he entered with, extended by 60-days Covid19 extensions all the way until now. He can change back to a 90 days Non-Imm-O inside the country or they might even allow him to skip that and apply for the 1-year extension straight away. I just spoke with a German yesterday who did exactly the same - entered with a multi entry Non-Imm-O and since he was unable to do border runs, has been on amnestyand Covid extensions since. They allowed him to apply for the 1-year EOS based on marriage, with financial proof though
you were told wrong, ALL extensions inside the country are 1900baht no matter how long they're issued for
You do NOT need a Non-O visa, you entered on one you said and you've been getting that extended since you arrived, SO all you're doing is applying for a year extension (retirement or marriage)
And then after that you would get a re-entry permit (single re-entry 1000baht multiple re-entry 3800 baht)
Hi Tod I came on a O 90 day I have extended it now a few times. What would the difference be for marriage or retirement apart from 400k or 800k in the bank and what about me go back to UK and then coming back in a few months time how would that work or do I need to get something else, much appreciated info thanks
Okay, then you don't need to get anything other than a year extension of stay either based on marriage (where you need to have the 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name for 2 months before you apply) and a pile of paperwork (marriage certs, wifes documents, etc)
OR
You apply for an extension based on being over 50 (retirement) where you need to have 800K baht in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply for the extension, then you keep the 800K baht in the account for 3 months after you get the extension and the balance can't go below 400K the rest of the year.
and as far as you leaving and coming back once you get the yearly extension granted you BUY a re-entry permit that lets you leave and come back without losing the extension you have.
, it is much more complicated to get a one-year extension based on marriage compared to based on retirement in respect to paper works, but possible if you carefully provide all the documents needed.
GO to your immigration office with your thai wife and get the hand out from them that lists the requirements of the retirement extension AND the marriage extension, then decide what one you want to go for.
BOTH are gonna take the funds in the account for 2 months before you can apply.
they only issue the 'visit family' extension ONE time per entry so if you got more than one 60 day extension you aren't on a family extension READ your stamp in your passport, if it has a 5 on it somewhere (written in pen usually) it's a covid extension NOT a visit family one
Lloyd is completely correct. A single entry visa (THE STICKER THAT LETS A PERSON STAY IN THAILAND) is 2K THB in local currency, and a multiple entry visa is 5K THB in local currency.
ok thanks it's just that yesterday I went to immigration and they wanted 18k for a 1 year visa but I didn't know that my 400k I first put in the bank could go below 400k or it would start the 2 months again
