TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around finding lower-cost health insurance options in Thailand. Several community members provide recommendations for insurance brokers, online resources, and specific insurance companies. Notable suggestions include contacting Rungtiwa, a licensed insurance broker, and Tenzing Pacific Services for assistance in comparing policies. Other suggestions include using insurance comparison websites and specific insurance plans like LMG and AIA, which may vary in cost depending on age and coverage needs. Some participants also caution against very cheap plans that may not provide adequate coverage.
Look for cover for using public hospitals. Cheaper. 42.000 baht last renewal for me.

Good luck. It is directly linked to your age.

Cheaper insurance means lower coverage, i find that paying medical treatments in thailand to be cheaper then insurance at times less.oit of pockets. Cheaper your premium also means co-pays
they tell u are cover during an emergency, say operation and treatment will be covered and say no in the end... total scam paid 4000 usd for plan, cost me 100k

Keep in mind with your search , that very cheap insurances often fail to deliver when you are in absolute need.

Depends on how long you plan to stay out of your home country. If you're moving abroad semi-permanently/permanently, you'll want comprehensive international health insurance. You'll need the better benefits like cancer treatment and coverage for preexisting conditions as you get older.
You'll need to get on a plan before you get too old. Once you are insured, you can stay insured for life. But if you wait until you're older then you may not get accepted.
I use this company for my comprehensive international health insurance. They are founded by expats and focus on expats. They work with something like 50+ different insurers, so they'll always find you the best value policy with a reputable insurer that fits your budget. I found a UK plan from HCI the best value.
depends on the insurance company. Some cut off at 67, others at 60. There are some that offer coverage for older, but I don't know them. Agents would know better.
Got it. I'm 60. Not sure yet, but might wait until 62 to retire in Thailand. That way I'll have 2 Pensions then*1 private pension from 32 yrs at a Union job and S.S. at 62. I have no pre-existing conditions.
a very helpful insurance broker in Thailand, highly recommend

If you’re looking for insurance, my wife Rungtiwa is a licensed broker who can compare multiple top Thai companies to get you the best coverage and price. She offers car, motorbike, home, travel, health, life & more. Friendly service in Thai & English.
hey Carl, this email address was only made recently. She now provides insurance for more companies at once, not sure if she still has access to the old one, but I'll tell her to have a look if she can see it
When send message to her line it comes an automatic response where she say that that account is closed and she doesn’t give the id for her new line account.
I can send you a screenshot if you don’t believe me
