Hello. Just to clarify for my mind. Do I have to renew my retirement visa before the 15th July. Just that it's got a stamp from the last one of 19th June 2024 so I am thinking I must have have a spare month on my last visa that is carried over. All help is much appreciated.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on whether they need to renew their retirement visa before July 15th, based on the stamp from their previous visa. Comments from the community indicate that the renewal can be applied for up to 30 days before the current visa expires, with suggestions to renew a month before expiry to avoid any unexpected rules. It is advisable to complete the renewal process before July 15th for peace of mind.

Why do you ask here when it all depends on your immigration office?

A simple phone call and you have a 100% correct answer within a minute.

That is very correct Robert, but like most questions on this group if you ask a question you will get sound advice, but as you say a phone call will give me the right answer. So what is the point in this group then if you ask a question and then you get told to phone the office up

you can apply for the next "1-year Extension of the Stay Permit based on Retirement" from up to 30 days before your current 1-year extension will expire. That would be from 16th of June 2024 onward. You next 1-year retirement extension will be issued for another year, starting on July 16th.

I always renew a month before expiry (in case rules change) and the new visa is 12 months from expiry of previous. Been doing this since 2008

, My Non Imm-O visa will expire on 6 September. I obtained that visa from my country several times and last year for the first time extension in BKK. However, what is the deadline for me to apply for a one year extension again? Is it 3 weeks or one month before the expiry date? Thanks for your advice in advance.

You can extend any time from 45 days prior right up to 5th September (6th is a Saturday). Not advisable to leave to the last minute though.

, sorry. You mean not before 45 days. I want to know the deadline not after the date to apply, I mean the latest date from the date of expiry. Thank you so much.

That’s for the initial Non O visa. That needs those number of days to convert. You can extend an extension up to the actual due date but actually 5th for you.

, how is it possible? They stamp on the extension application submission date to contact after 20 days for processing and decision making. So, they want to apply at least 21 or 30 days ( I can't remember clearly) before the extension expiry date. I am asking regarding a Non Imm-O ( spouse) visa. Thank you.

I’ve extended a few time over the years. Extending after the first time takes about 10 minutes work for the officer. You wait much longer in line than the actual work ;)

That’s why you can do it on the last day (which is not advised if you’re not 100% prepared).

They will stamp a under consideration stamp for 15-30 days or so but it’s irrelevant when you apply from 45 days out up until the stamp date.

the deadline is the date on the stamp. September 6th is the last day you can apply without going into overstay

I guess you don't even have something which is called a "visa". You are on a stay permit, not on a visa. You most probably are on an "1-year extended stay permit based on being married to a Thai wife". You can apply for the next 1-year extension of the stay permit, from up to 30 days before your current extended stay permit expires (on some Immigration from up to 45 days). The Extension will be issued for 4 weeks"under consideration". Within this period, Immigration is going to visit you and your wife at home, and they will ask your neighbours to make sure that your marriage is for real

you can apply ON the expiration date. But since it's a Saturday, not this year.
