I am at the immigration office now in Samut Prakan and there is a notice saying. Moving back to the old immigration office. From the 1st April. Hope this is only a April Fools joke as the office now is only 5 min away from me.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A post from an expat at the immigration office in Samut Prakan mentions a notice about moving back to the old location starting April 1st, expressing concern that it might be an April Fools' joke. Comments reveal that the current office was supposed to be temporary due to refurbishments at the old office site and share other expats' frustrations about travel times related to previous moves.

Yeah, I had the same experience when they moved to Chaeng Wattana. Going to Soi Suanplu was 10 minutes on my bicycle. Now it's a three hour trek. And another three hours to get back.

From memory the old place they were at next to the River was being refurbished and the place where they are now (above the market) was only temporary.

Yep, that's right, sadly Pak Nam was always further for me and often had problems finding a parking spot☹️

when we lived in Prah Samut Chedi the old office was just across the river.

2 klm drive, 6 baht boat, 5 minute walk. So I understand where you’re coming from.
