be careful as changing money here or sending directly from your bank will result in lower rates which can actually cost you more than using Wise!

You can do anytime after 3 days, you can even do it at the airport when you land in Thailand, don't worry

Which health insurance companies do Non OA retirement visa holders in Thailand recommend?

On the website where you apply there is a list of recommended companies, these are the easiest options as they know you need a cover letter and do it automatically, I went with Axa from this list.
