if you still have your allowance for the TWO times land border per year you could also do a quick border bounce and get 30 days, BTW this is extendable by a further 30 days a Thai Immigration.

since we have conflicting info I would suggest the OP to contact the Thai Embassy in KL directty. I have seen Tod letter is dated 2017 and the one from the link is 2014.
