Exactly. Even if the pavements were perfect it would be mad to walk around on the streets with the hot temperature, humidity, cancerous air, rabid dogs, and motor vehicles that have a tendency to veer off the roads at high speeds. Most Thais get this. It took me a year or so to understand myself.
