TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation revolves around the experiences and opinions of various individuals regarding the Phuket Sandbox, a program aimed at allowing vaccinated tourists to enter Thailand for leisure while adhering to certain COVID-19 protocols. Participants share feedback, potential challenges, and personal anecdotes related to travelling to Phuket, along with discussions about quarantine rules and vaccination requirements.

I live in north East. As far I know I could just jump in my car and drive to the sandbox.
You can not join the sandbox. The sandbox is a 14 day "island quarantine". You can visit Phuket though.

It’s a good time not to be first in this case. Didn’t want to be negative ,believe me because I wanted to go with my wife,I am in Chiang Mai but even to get there is a hassle and it’s partially open.
I'm heading out in 4 weeks myself no matter what people say after all it will certainly be better in the sandbox than stuck in Ireland rhats for sure. Go enjoy yourself my friend
outdoor dining only , gyms onky opened 1 month ago, do indoor bars, clubs etc, similar to UK , But now there talking Indian Varient boll#x so fuck that id rather be out in Phuket enjoying my time
Not to mention the social engineers there hey? Mass immigration? Every 100 years, 1918 Spanish Flu, 1820 Cholera outbreak, 1720 Bubonic plague, hmm. Coincidence?

A guy live feed to facebook yesterday showed they walked about 3 km just to find an open restaraunt lol
yep I saw that, I was a bit confused, didn’t the Thai government informed the locals what was happening??? Why all these places were still closed.

One thing I have learned in life listen to all advice available then make up your own mind, if everything didn’t have some sort of risk then life would be boring , a calculated and educated risk will win out every time in my book, do your research and ask questions then weigh it all up and decide from that. I am going to Thailand and using the sandbox because I am vaccinated and it seems like an interesting adventure
They are doing a great job to help us to get to Phuket Sandbox !!
Thanks a lot 🙏🏻

My mate arrived on the 2nd July to phuket. And after all the paperwork he had to produce his girlfriend was able to fly in to phuket from Bangkok no vaccine no PCR test no questions.
Got to laugh really 🤣

Thats surprising! Im Thai and my friend just fly to the west, he told me that they wont let you fly without any covid test unless you got a prove of vaccination. 🤷♀️🤷♀️
all domestic flights within Thailand may it be Thai or Foreigner must have had vaccine 14 days before travel to phuket OR PCR test done 7 days before travel and then another on arrival. My friends GF has not had a vaccine and she never got any tests. Not even on arrival to Phuket. She lives in Bangkok that has high number of case's.
The OP asks a question about how the sandbox is going, and the anti-vaxxer whackos come crawling out from under their rocks, armed with their latest YouTube videos 🤣🤣🤣
Well since this is my post! I’ve been coming to Thailand longer than most! Yes there are overweight foreigners in the beaches! My observation is mostly Europeans.
According to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare: "When comparing the proportion of obese men and women across OECD countries, Australia had the 2nd highest proportion of obese men (32%), behind the United States (38%)." Don't worry, you'll catch up.
I am trying now for outbound from uk in two weeks time. Lots of ensuring that docs saved in right place. I think also key is a hotel that communicates well and knows the score.
they probably were already there still best to see what it is like after 14 days .There was a post for example on July 1 where a guy said in Patong hardly anything was open. The first day of arrivals were mostly from middle east second day was when first European arrivals started ,you can't leave your hotel until you get your first test result. Suggest you also take a look at Thai PBS that talks about a positive case that arrived on a Thai Smile flight from Bangkok.
