first time used agent for marriage and retirement managed to do it all at same time .but did involve going to thai embassy two times..only seen the agent once . Sent passport . Back about three weeks later . Then went to local office in phon phisia. And got married .

I had no problem doing myself after first year of retirement visa . Done it all with the wife's help .
