TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the complications of obtaining a visa for Thailand, specifically regarding the police record check requirement. It highlights that the Non-OA visa requires a federal criminal record check, whereas the Non-O visa does not have this requirement. Participants share their experiences and alternatives, suggesting that it's easier to apply for the Non-O visa, which only requires proof of funds and other simpler checks.

I donβt stalk people to see their location. But anyway there should be a higher up law enforcement agency than the local law. That will do the background checks. MI6 maybe.
sounds like what somebody who wants to give correct advice do, as a first step. More so if the OP doesn't give enuff details by himself. Knowing the passport country or the OP often solves half of the riddle
most people with any common sense actually block their profile information from random strangers on the internet. So if OP is smart they would have that blocked.

I tried the local police but the embassy rejected it so I went to the state police website and was able to download my background check for $10 and it was accepted.

If you are in UK itβs called an ACRO certificate. You apply on line and it comes through the post a few weeks later. Itβs pretty simple to do.
You could apply for a regular Non O without police check up requirement if thatβs an option.

There's only one visa that requires a criminal records check, and that's the the non-OA visa which you can only get in your home country. That requirement hasn't changed and has been in place for many years. They would not accept anything from your local police station, as it needs to be a federal records check.
Most people don't want a non-OA visa, they want a non-O visa, which doesn't have any of the requirements of the non-OA visa except for the proof of funds. If you want the non-OA you'll need mandatory insurance, a medical check, criminal background check, and the proof of funds.
I have the elite visa and no background check was required. To the best of my knowledge all checks are done internally with Thai Immigration. If you contact the Thailand Privilege staff they can help you with all your questions.
