Gethin Evans If you say so. It’s always at the discretion of the immigration officer. I have been told a tourist visa is no suitable, by an immigration officer. So no, I don’t think you can go as many times as you like.

David Eagle Ok. Try staying there for 60 days(the visa exemption period) then return to your home country for four months then come back for another 60 days. Sounds ok, yes? But it’s not. You spend a total of 120 days in Thailand and 8 months in your home country. They don’t like it if you keep doing it.

3 times a year for 2 months each is too much. You will be stopped.

You need a long term visa such as DTV or an elite visa (now has a different name).

What bugs me most is the lack of rules and hence inconsistency. I like to know where I am, what the rules are. If I know this then I will comply. But the application of the rules doesn’t match the law surrounding them. I hope when they change the exemption back to 30 days we can end this uncertainty.
