thanks. We are out of sync. I left to visit dying brother and let my Visa lapse. Got a new non O A last June but won't be able to meet income requirements due to my income being investment income. Husband is due for extension in March. Do I abandon the balance of my Visa to become dependant on his. Or can I run out my Visa and then apply for dependant on his?

US citizens can get METV 6 month Visas. You can stretch it out another 30. Or as mentioned go to school on an approved education visa. You know with a place that requires you to show up?

Option 1 get an actual visa in your country of origin.

Option 2 book a train/ plane or bus ticket out of Thiland then trash it. Option 3 (most expensive) change flight.

Based on the craziness going on at immigration if you do not return before your visa expires get a new one in the US. Can be done by mail and those embassies/consulates count things like investment income.

Check on getting an undergraduate degree. Many Universities here offer the degrees in English. For about

th the cost of a UK degree. Already have a 4 year degree? Do post graduate work or pick up a second major. The Thai language schools and the Muay Thai schools realize they have a "captive" audience and are charging more than legitimate University degrees.

just a Google search. Like all things statistical in Thailand probably a best guess.

David Allen exactly! Not quite 5 minutes, they stay until 7 or 8 pm most nights. Big BOSS was here last week and it is 1000 times better. The office here enforces immigration laws. All of them! Proof of income, TM 30, 90 day reporting. Some offices look at you like what's a TM30?

I don't think Bangkok (or actually anyone in Thailand) understands the enormity of the task. At last guess the consulates here estimated 20,000 expats in Chiang Mai province. The 2017 census put Chiang Mai's population at 131,000. 15% of the population is expats.

Although it is a "good job" by Thai standards I have a feeling the burn out rate is going to be sky high. I so feel for these people!

Chiang Mai immigration currently processes over 1000 people a day with like 10 officers?
