DTV rejected from embassy in Singapore, even though I meet the criteria
For context, I am a Singaporean applying for the DTV as a remote freelance worker (I’m registered as a sole prop under ACRA). I’ve gotten my visa rejected even though I meet all the criteria (sufficient funds of min. 500K THB for 3 months)
I waited until I got my October 2025 bank statement, and this time I was sure that I had the minimum amount for 3 consecutive months - Aug, Sep, Oct 2025. I had all the other documents prepped and ready so all there was left to do was to compile the PDFs, and submit.
They emailed me the next working day requesting for more documents- those that didn’t have the upload field in the original application, such as the letter explaining my work, my ACRA business profile, and they even asked me to reupload my passport photo, because the background was slightly yellow (from scanning) instead of white. What confused me the most was that they said I had insufficient funds for October.
I took a second look at my October statement, which had more than enough funds. I thought maybe it was overlooked, as the 3 months’ of bank statements from multiple accounts totaled to about 42 pages.
I submitted my October statements again, and received an email saying my visa had been rejected due to insufficient funds in October.
It turns out that my bank statement did not reflect that I had the funds at the end of the month- it was only reflected in the account summary. For that, they claimed there’s no proof I have the funds. I emailed them to clarify if this was what they meant, but I haven’t gotten a reply so I’m going to appeal in person.
I really want to get the visa. Has anyone had a similar experience? If so, please share!
So I basically have a non-B visa with work permit. I reminded my company a month in advance that I need the documents to extend my visa. But they delayed a lot as I am the first foreigner in the company and they do not know the procedures. I now have about a week to get my visa extended.
They are still trying to go through the normal route without a visa agent and I think they have the necessary documentations already. But they said that if the immigration officer requests for any additional documents, we may need to pay for a visa agent. They company expects me to pay for this. Is this normal? I feel like I would be paying for their mistakes as I reminded them a month in advance.
And what are the documents that are needed? Is it possible to get the visa extended within a week? O
After years of Thailand elite, then retirement extensions, finances dictate I switch to an extension based on marriage. I realise it's pretty onerous but doable. My question for those who do it regularly.... is all the paperwork, photos, hand drawn map, kor ror 2 etc supposed to be renewed EVERY year?
Hello all. I am right now trying to complete a non o application from here in uk question of duration of stay. My intention is to get authorisation to stay beyond the original term by way of extension on family basis (wife).
Should I mark down 60 or 90. I understand the procedure I think to let 60 days lapse and then apply for extension. Any help appreciated. My intention is to stay at least 5-6 months and then return on it having the necessary re entry permit.
Thank you guys, I was reading every comment about DTV and documents. We were over prepared for my husband visa. He applied in Brasil and got it in 5 hours. 🙏❤️ So thanks to everyone who takes time to share! It really helps ❤️
Please clarify a 30 day extension to a 60 day visa exempt visit to Thailand scenario . If I arrive at BKK on October 1 I will be stamped for 60 days until November 29. If I go to Vietnam during this time, and come bacK to BKK and get a 30 day extension until December 29 , can I simply change flights and depart Thailand and go back to America on December 29 with no issues ? Thanks in advance for your advice..k
