For those that are interested in the process, hope this is useful.
I received my new Australian passport at the embassy and current passport was marked as cancelled. I held Non-O Visa (Thai wife), now on first yearly extension of stay, and have multi re-entry permit. Extension & re-entry both from Chaengwattana.
Arrived CW 2pm Wednesday 28 May, was given ticket for counter L with 35 people in front of me. My ticket was called at 3:50pm.
Gave counter L my new & old passports, completed transfer form, with copies of requested documents on the form ([members only]).
Took 15 minutes to process, and then I was sent to the re-entry section. It was after 3:30 so I couldn't get a ticket number for re-entry counter, so just asked the staff in the re-entry section (hoping they wouldn't tell me to come back next day) and they then copied re-entry stamp into new passport also.
Whole process completed by 4:20pm.
I think it was helpful that the re-entry permit had been issued by CW, as the re-entry staff first saw an expired re-entry permit issued by Suvarnabhumi Airport, and were discussing between themselves about which office had issued the reentry permit.
I've attached copies of what the stamps in new passport look like, as they are like a duplicate of the original stamp, with a 'this is a correct copy' stamp and signed by immigration officer.
Will it be enough if I show them only one month of 500,000 baht in my bank account?. Also which embassy should i apply from? I live in Niedersachsen and in total there are 3 embassies in Germany as far as i am aware
I was in the land transport office (Chiang Mai) and they were quite happy to issue a 5 year Thai driving license, providing of course the usual conditions were met (previously holding a 2 year etc) for me as a DTV holder.
Was curious how that would work out as the Elite / Privilage visa often is denied this ability. They also knew about the LTR and said they would allow a 5 year for those also.
British Passport Bangkok.. I need to renew my passport using VFS in Bangkok. Can I still use hotel as proof of address? Does my hotel booking need to be for the entire time it will take to get a new passport? or just for a week or so? Can you still check into hotels while it is being renewed? Thanks for the help. It's a real stress.
I can get a visa for two months every time I enter Thailand. I am a retired Australian citizen. I don't have a bank account yet in Thailand. And I don't plan to apply for a Retirement visa for now. I think first to find the area where I will live and then to look for a place to rent for a long time. Is there any way I can extend the two month visa period to 4-6 months?
Hi I am an American citizen and looking to apply for a retirement visa in the US. I visited the Thai embassy web site about the requirements and there are 2 I have questions about. How do I open and securely deposit money in a Thai bank account? Where do I get the report on my criminal record? Look forward to help from fellow Americans especially if you are from Arizona.
Hello, has anyone brought an infant (under 1) into the country recently? Did they require the travel insurance that everyone else is required? If so, which provider did you find to cover them?
Greetings! In Phuket now (under the visa waiver program 45 days) What are the required documents for a Covid 60 days extension visa? Thank you in advance. J
