ORIGINAL POSTER
I have just been to immigration at Blueport, Hua Hin to advise that I have returned after being away, within Thailand, for a few days.

I was advised that this only has to be done if I leave the country and return.

I am on a Non Immigrant OA visa.

The officer that dealt with me was very polite and understanding. And, I was in and out within 5 minutes

TLDR : Answer Summary
While reporting to immigration after returning to Thailand is not necessary if you were traveling within the country, it is mandatory if you leave Thailand and return. A Non Immigrant OA visa holder should report to immigration within 24 hours of returning from abroad. Several users shared similar experiences from different locations in Thailand, confirming this rule. It's recommended to seek clarity on these reporting requirements and using online methods might require assistance from a Thai national.

Okay, and I see that this is going to come off the rails so how about we refer to the well written post by Robert about how the TM.30 works and leave it at that..

The reporting is suppose to be done within 24-hours post returning and it’s the responsibility of the “house master” to report but if they don’t you will be held-up from renewing your extension.

best to ask Jomtien. I was told no need to checkin if at same address and doing travel inside Thailand. Only need to report TM30 when I return to Thailand from OUTSIDE Thailand.

Some say wast of time or not your responsibility. I say well done, you got the last information and now know their rules and found out again that Immigration Officers can be very polite and understanding.
