Part retired in Thailand is my plan,6 month in 6 month uk and elsewhere but looks like hoops of fire to jump through to get retirement sorted, maybe they don’t want us to get to comfortable in there country, maybe Vietnam or Philippines better less stressful option and just use visa exempt for Thai visit

yes you are correct you’ve got to go to the embassy in Bangkok not in your home country, I am part retiring after Christmas and I have an Irish passport and this information is straight from the Irish Embassy in Bangkok

do you have to provide proof of address when you open a bank account with your non 0 ?

When I travel over in January to start my retirement process, I will be initially renting a condo for six months. Will that rent agreement be okay as proof of address. ? Thanks

That’s exactly what Korat immigration told me, I told them my Irish embassy still offers affidavit for pension proof and the lady told me that will be okay in your case. You do not have to deposit the 800 K.

If so cut it to 30 days,if not people will come for 60+30 not illegal, unless they put it in black and white it will always be used to its fullest stay until a IO says no
