Yeah, I was thinking the same thing and after a few months or so several million folks were able to get insured. Also the history of the Denver airport was similar with the press hand wringing for awhile. I just stopped expecting perfection and I’m much happier.
I recall the same glitches the first couple of weeks during the sandbox program and by the time we went through it all went smoothly. It can be frustrating, but I’m not aware of too many tech rollouts that went perfectly….hang in there and good luck to you.
You may want to book directly with the property as you will need to also arrange transportation from the airport through the hotel and prepay for the RT-PCR test. You may also want to ask with which hospital the property is affiliated as that’s the hospital whose staff will conduct the test, and where you will be treated in the unlikely event there is a positive test result.
The Thai Pass system is scheduled to go live early next week. I wouldn’t worry about the COE requirements and let’s see what needs to be uploaded to the new site. I suspect there may be the usual challenges during the first few days of launch of the new site. It also seems that the site will want you to confirm vaccination status, place you’ll be staying whilst the Covid test result is ready, and your travel itinerary. Good luck to you.
We entered last week. Thai spouse used her Thai passport and I used my US passport with a visa. COEs are required for us both, but otherwise, no issues on arrival in Phuket.
It may be just luck, but everyone worked just fine when I got here. I think there will be kinks to work out with the new system, but remaining optimistic as we want to have a few family members joins us for the holidays
I don’t know what the requirements will be for your local consulate to issue the pass, but I suspect it will focus on your vaccination status and intended time you want to spend here. It would be good of there was an integrated QR code system as right now we had to load a separate app for daily temp checks with the hotel. Not a big deal, but one stop shopping is easier.
