Book an SHA+ hotel and the property will arrange for transport from the airport and a test on the way. It should take a few to several hours to get the result and you’re on your way. Here’s a quick read:

@Benjamin *****
I understand visa exemptions but the question posed was about a 30 day visa so just trying to clarify that the question was directed to a visa or a visa exemption. Thanks

Are you sure it’s not a sixty day visa? Those may be extended for 30 days for a fee of 1900THB

I came in under a Non-O visa that I acquired from my local Royal Thai Consulate, and then extended for a year here before the initial 90 day period expired. Best of luck and safe travels. You can get some additional information at:

Benjamin Hays From someone who splits time between BK and Phetchabun I agree completely that it’s a good idea to check with the office where you’re extending. Even the language in the current guidelines have not caught up to the Test and Go Thailand Pass paradigm, so good advice.

Hi Raluca, technically all visa extensions are within Immigration’s discretion, but I agree with Ellie and that if you’re here in Thailand, not breaking laws and enjoying the sights this shouldn’t be a problem. You will need to fill out an application for extension and signed acknowledgement essentially restating that you understand the terms of your visa. You’ll need to provide copies of your passport pages (Bio data, visa stamp, entry stamp and departure card, and pay B1900. I would also have in hand your insurance policy covering your stay (required under the Thailand Pass system). Finally, you’ll need a passport size photo. Seems like a lot, but the extension applications are pretty easy to fill out, and you can get the passport photos done before you arrive. Safe travels.

On a recent domestic flight my boarding pass for some reason caused a red light to come up. The Bangkok Air worker asked for my vaccination card and I was good to go. I brought mine in an abundance of caution. Safe travels

The covid test results for the test taken 72 hours prior to your date of departure, and I also take a copy of any SHA+ or ASQ booking. Safe travels

You can apply for the Non-O with the Thai Immigration Bureau in Bangkok. You will may need to extend your tourist visa for another 30 days (B1900) to have your funds in a Thai Bank (B400K) and to get your marriage certified through your embassy or consulate. You would need to do much of this anyway to extend your Non-O for a year so if you were going to extend in BK in any event….no harm no foul. You can get a bit more information at

It”s the widely used and enhanced version of the PCR test designed to better detect the virus. Our PCR-RT test results were checked before we boarded, when we transited through Singapore (where the requirement is 48 hours before date of departure) and when we arrived in HKT. Safe travels.
