exactly, that extension is given on a unable to travel basis. Seems weird to use it as a regular extension and even ask for a re-entry permit. I'm really curious how this will unfold!!

dependant visa for children comes to an end at ~20 years old, admin can confirm the exact age.

Instead of thinking how to get a visa that will fit your desired lenght of stay I would recommend getting a visa that will fit your purpose of travel. Then adjust your purpose of travel if the visa doesn't fit your desired lenght of stay. Just a thought.

could he get an emergency passport issued at US embassy? Maybe the fees wouldn't be worth it though...

both are good recommendations but it's not legit. If he dies and then she uses the money, on the legal aspect, she's stealing the estate beneficiaries - even though he gave her his approval to use the funds, hence the good way to do it is having a thaï will written up. Also, the bank's term of use forbids to give your password/pin number away to someone else so he wouldn't be covered in case of fraud.

Ciaran McNeill most now won't ask for my passport and ask for my wife's id card to save the hassle. I know it's not right and shouldn't be doing that, but that's the reality now.
