TLDR : Answer Summary
The Covid extension for visas in Thailand has been extended until July 29th. It allows individuals to apply for a Covid-related extension without rushing to immigration until closer to their visa expiration date. Comments reveal that those on TR (tourist) visas can still apply for this Covid extension. Basic document requirements are being discussed, with users cautioning against misinformation regarding additional requirements like letters from embassies. There are also mentions of corruption and unofficial fees requested by some immigration officers.

If I'm on a TR visa that expires on 14 July, can I apply for a covid extension on or before this date first, instead of applying for the usual 30 day extension? If so, can I then apply for my 30 day extension just before my covid extension stamp expires?

Ok,
@I**
whether you can apply for the 60 day covid extension OR you have to take your 30 day regular extension FIRST is totally between you and the immigration office you go to.

And as far as IF you take the covid extension can you bank the 30 day extension you didn't take (OR do you lose it totally) again, that's between you and the office you use.

That's who you need to be asking

I knew I was correct thank you and for the polite way you say storry... They are just being corrupt here and asking for extra money every 90 days. Today she threatened me and so I lost my temper and video our conversation

@Peter ********
something may have been lost in translation. She may have wanted another printout of the website saying the UK embassy does not issue the letters.

@benjamin hays. Every 90 days when I go to saraburi immigration the captain who is a woman demands 1000 baht on top of the 1900 baht fee for coffee or to save me signing every week in which we don't have too. Today she said if I don't pay then I need to get in touch with embassy or I can go home. Anyway I filled out the paperwork and she called me in. I refused to pay and videod our conversation, after that I got stamped untill the 11 June and told to come back with letter from embassy...nothing was lost in translation..... No tea money no 60 days...

@Peter ********
so email the embassy and ask them about the letter and print the email off they send you back saying they don't issue the letter

It's all you can do

That's from the website when they said they stopped the letters

@Tod ********
thanks for, that is exactly what I was going to do

So does it mean that the immigration will stamp 60 days if I go there on 10th July ? What documents are required for doing this extension?
Tod *********
@Sunny *****
, there are more than enough posts on the group listing the basic document requirement to get a covid extension.

You can ONLY apply for a 60 day covid extension OR all you're gonna get is a 7 day get out of thailand stamp :/

@Tod ********
thank you

Thanks for the update

This means that unless you have a stamp expiring tomorrow you don't need to run to the immigration office to apply for a new covid extension tomorrow. You can wait and go closer to the expiration date of your current stamp.

Hi Tod, so just to be clear (as I was literally just getting ready to leave to go to C.M Immigration...), my Covid stamp is good until 28 June. What you are saying is that I don't need to go today, rather I can wait until closer to 28 June? Please confirm. Thank you Tod.
Tod *********
@Dan *********
correct the covid extension program has been continued until July 29th, SO go apply for your next covid extension closer to when your current one is running out.
Daniel **********
@Tod ********
thank you very much. Much appreciated.
Tod *********
@Anast*****
nope, if your stamp is due on the 28th you have until that date to apply for a new extension
Anastasiia ************
@Tod ********
but what if you've already done your stamp until 28th? Will they shift this +1 day to the next most likely extention, or? ๐Ÿ˜€
Benjamin ******
@Jeremy *******
You must go on Monday. You will get an overstay stamp, but it will be marked "waived due to Immigration Office Closure"
