Thank you for such a useful article. The NZ fee for the DTV is 2,000NZD (roughly 22,000B) so there’s no way we want to get anything wrong. This is great advice about checking the MRZ auto fill carefully

Wow!!! This is sooooo great to hear. You can’t imagine. We are thinking submitting our application with a very short turn around before departure from NZ. Have been imagining this will be an impossible ask. But maybe not!

Why do all the commenters here just say get a proper visa as if you just walk into a Walkmart and pick it up off the shelf. But meanwhile over on the DTV group there are literally so many horror stories of people either applying unsuccessfully or still being denied entry with a correct visa, that it has stressed me out so much i have had to leave that group. Starting to think this one is also just depressing as it doesn’t matter what you do, all you are guaranteed is more stress and uncertainty that I will have to leave this one too 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I feel like it is bad advice saying that all you need is the money im the bank. You do need to prove you have either remote work or be enrolled in some kind of course. You can’t just show money im the bank. Not much wonder people often have to submit a second or third application before they are successful.

Joanna Lima how did you get on? Someone commented that one spelling error could be costly if we lose our application fee but I have also read it is more likely to get be successfully approved from our home country. Have you managed to get it over the line?

Donald Campbell actually we have come across many who are taking sabbaticals or extended leave from jobs they are burnt out from and needing more than just a trip around the sights for the “average 21 days”. They actually need to completely rest and recover and choose Thailand because they have been able to take the time they need. Why do people need to be so judgy on these groups?

strange. Extremely annoying! Only New Zealand. Sounds like we might be able to apply from somewhere else but that brings logistical challenges of yet another kind. I am so sick of people just saying get a visa! It’s actually either expensive or complicated for kiwis.

I would if the Thai embassy in NZ wasn’t charging $2,000 - yes $2,000 - for the application fee!!!

not cheap for everyone. New Zealanders have to pay $2000 yes two THOUSAND per visa! Plus have the funds parked for 90 days. Just not that simple.
