Your visa application should show onward travel within 60 days.

Your airline is likely to check this as well.

If you get a 60 day TR visa, do print it out, you'll need it when first arriving in LOS and you'll also need to show it to obtain your 30 day extension.

One 30 day extension is allowed with the 60 day visa, it costs 1900 baht, done at Chaengwattana, counter J.

I've heard of similar comments being said, guessing the immigration lady is a bit long in tooth, as a typical Thai Auntie thing to say. 🙃

Witness? Not as much a directive, but a backwards congratulations/good luck.

Have you actually applied for a LTR visa? Where did you apply?

What's your age and citizenship?

I think you need to return to your home country for a long while... and apply from there.

In the eyes of immigration, I think they'll view your situation with suspicion that you're not a real "tourist"

YMMV

in fact, there's at least one senior, upcountry officer who does lurk here and a few other sites, Jack. She started lurking back in the old Thai Visa. com & nanaplaza .com days 20+ years ago...

Me mates' longtime gf.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding, marriage. Do know that any "village" ceremony isn't officially recognized until you properly register your marriage. As you are American, I'll allow others to advise you. No fiancé visa, though.

Cheers 🍺

Laos

Avoid PoiPet.

Best to have the 3 proofs in any case:

hotel booking for a few days & onward travel reservation within 45 days, & 20,000 thb or equivalent in $ £ € in CASH is needed.

Seems you're planning a "border bounce" back into LOS

Best to have the 3 proofs in any case:

hotel booking for a few days & onward travel reservation within your allowed "visa exempt for tourism" stamp days in & 20,000 thb or equivalent in $ £ € in CASH is needed.

You'll likely be questioned by immigration because you said you had an Ed visa.

Don't sing that "Thailand is My Home Now" song if you're re entering as a tourist obstensibly, mate. 🙃 555

Do not use PoiPet for any border bounce.

YMMV

No. You can not get a tourist visa in Thailand.

Get the tourist visa in your home country online.

Not at all, mate.

Very, very common policy for most countries.
