My DTV application was unexpectedly rejected today (6 Nov at 11:54 a.m.) with HCM, Vietnam
Timeline:
• 27 Oct: Submitted application (7:10 p.m.)
• 28 Oct: Further info requested → submitted same day
• 4 Nov: Emailed consulate (visa expiring 9 Nov); later that day status changed from Document Check → Pending Approval
• 6 Nov, 7am: Emailed again early morning (tomorrow is the last working day before my visa expiry)
• 6 Nov, 11:54 a.m.: Received rejection
I’m an immigration advisor of NZ, working for a Chinese company, and I included:
• 6 months of payslips, bank statements, tax records, employment letter, the company registration and my license certificate.
• A NZ term deposit of over 1 million THB
• Stayed at Da Nang: boarding pass, hotel bills, visa and visa stamp.
Everything seemed straightforward, so I’m shocked by the refusal.
I can think of three possible reasons for the refusal, but I’d be interested to hear other views:
1. HCM may regard me as able to work locally since I can provide consultations to both Thai nationals and foreigners in Thailand, while the DTV prohibits me from working in Thailand. However, all clients of the company are from mainland China, which is not specifically mentioned in the application. Should I clarify that I am aware of Thai law and will not conduct any local work?
2. I hold both Chinese and New Zealand citizenships, but I applied under my Chinese passport (as only my Chinese health insurance covers me due to my medical conditions). This is not something I can change.
3. I used a New Zealand term deposit instead of a savings account, which might be seen as funds not immediately accessible. Should I instead provide proof of a regular savings account?
Has anyone experienced something similar or know what might have triggered this?
Has anyone with Chinese passport successfully applied for DTV at Thai Embassy Kuala Lumpur recently? I'm currently in KL and planning to apply. Need to know if it's feasible or should I go to Hanoi or somewhere else instead. Which city you recommend and which muya Thai club in Thai you recommend
Viet Nam seems to reject Chinese's application for DTV, and there is no successful case.May I ask who has successfully applied for a DTV visa in Vietnam with a China passport in the past three months?
I’m currently in Kathmandu, Nepal, holding a Chinese passport, and planning to apply for the DTV visa here.
Has anyone here applied for a DTV visa in Nepal before?
From what I read on the Kathmandu Thai Embassy website, it seems to be the same process as in other countries (like Vietnam): using the online e-visa platform with the same set of documents.
However, I’m a bit concerned that there might be some additional requirements or local differences I’m not aware of. Could anyone kindly share your experience? Should I just follow the steps on the online e-visa platform, or is there anything else I should prepare in advance?
"Place of Issue", when entering the passport details.
My GF has a Chinese passport, that she had issued in Bangkok when she got it renewed. So on the DTV application, she put "Bangkok" for place of issue. It states this on her passport.
She just got her application cancelled after waiting 12 days:
**
"Your visa application has been cancelled. Applicant’s passport holder and nationality provided is incorrect with passport biodata page."
**Should she just put China? Anyone have experience with this detail? I can't imagine any other entry on that page could be incorrect to cause this problem.
The cancellation didn't give any detailed explanation or a way to correct the problem, frustrating. Any help would be appreciated as we want to reapply asap.
I just received an email stating that my visa has been canceled because my passport’s issuing country and my nationality are different. I am Chinese, and when my passport was about to expire, I replaced it in Chiang Mai. There’s no rule saying this makes me ineligible to apply. Can anyone tell me what I should do now? Please (Feeling very upset)
Supplement: Application submitted in Hanoi, Vietnam
I hold Chinese passport and French residency card. I applied non-immigrant IB visa through eVisa website, the application was submitted to the Thai embassy in Paris.
Due to the surge of visa application in the embassy, I might not be able to get non-immigrant IB visa on my departure date to Thailand, so if that possible for me to enter Thailand with on arrival tourist visa, and wait for the non-immigrant IB visa in Thailand?
If possible, how do I validate the non-immigrant IB visa after I received it in Thailand?
