Can get to IT Laksi by train, it's rather convenient. 😉 Laksi Station, adjacent to the building.

As you'll appear to be a tourist, likely yes with no issues.

Best to have the 3 proofs in any case:

hotel booking for a few days & onward travel reservation within 45 days, & 20,000 thb or equivalent in $ £ € in CASH is needed.

Especially if your onward ticket is returning to USA, you should be fine.

YMMV

Ok, you may; but anything unclear, do ask the group because there are far more knowledgeable people than I. Also, do use the search function, especially about the border bounces. Rather dynamic, that; with some being much more difficult than others.

Cheers 🍺

Before deciding, do go to immigration for more information.

Are you a parent of the original post's author?

There's no indication of how long she's been in LOS on an Ed visa, is there?

How much longer does she(or the original post's author) hope to remain in LOS?

In any case, one may attempt a border bounce, but best to avoid PoiPet.

Laos is generally easier at the moment.

Naturally, one's individual history with immigration will be the major factor; at the sole discretion of the officer one is in front of.

For any border bounce------->>>

Do save the printout of the Evisa for if/when you want to extend your stay another 30 days in country because the immigration office will likely ask for a copy. 😉

There's no such thing as a 45 day tourist visa for anyone. It's a visa exempt entry. 🙃 Each visa exempt entry may only be extended once. Cost of 1900 thb at residing immigration office.

As always, one is always at the discretion of the officer in front of you.
