Hi Todd, sorry to question you again. If I start I the visa exempt for 30 days can I then apply for the 10 year retirement visa?

Are you American? If so you can go with out a visa like I did. You get 30 day visa exempt on arrival . Then you go to a immigration office during your 1st or 2nd week & get a 30 day extension for 1900 baht. If you want more than 60 days get visa in the USA or leave Thailand on 59 th day . Fly to KL for couple days then go back Thailand get another 60.

Ty Tod . I was looking to get the 10’year retirement visa. I’m over 50 & meet the financial requirements with money in the bank. No income until next year when I receive social security but not enough for income requirements unless money in the bank is good enough for the visa. I am thinking of moving there as soon as my Social security benefits start. Can I get this visa in Thailand while I’m on the visa exempt status? Or should I apply for 10 year visa in USA if that is possible? Sorry I probably didn’t explain clearly

if you don’t get a visa you only get 30 then ASAP go to immigration get extension for another 30 . If you need more then 60 you will then need to do a visa run . I flew to KL .
