TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has recently extended their visa exemption and is seeking advice on the necessary documents to apply for a Non-O visa, specifically focusing on retirement extension. Community members suggest consulting local immigration directly for accurate requirements. It's noted that some immigration offices may require the 800,000 THB in the bank to be seasoned for a set period for the retirement extension but not necessarily for the initial Non-O visa application. Key documentation mentioned includes a TM30, bank statements, and proof of financial means. Personal experiences and offices' requirements can vary, highlighting the importance of direct inquiries to local immigration.

Don't use an agent, expensive and not necessary! Like Cool said goto your local office, if you have a Thai speaking friend take them with you, and ask what forms/identification is needed. Then return on the date they give you. Took me less than an hour the first time I got mine, very easy

depends on the office. My first one they required the 800k matured for 2 months before application, a bank book updated on the day of application, a printout of the last 2 months of bank activity signed by the bank on the day of the application, documentation that all the 800k came from overseas signed by the bank, a rental agreement, a TM30 filed, the application itself, my passport, and my physical presence at the immigration office... i think that's all but i might be forgetting something.

Go to the office and ask them, and take a thai speaking friend with good english with you

I thought for the application to the Non-O visa, no seasoning of the 800,000.- THB is needed ? Only when you apply for the 1-year Extension the money must have seasoned for two months. Was this the Jomtien office?

yeah sorry, i was thinking about both requirements combined.

that’s what I thought also

it depends on the office. Jomtien is known for demanding that the 800,000.- have to be seasoned for the application to the visa. However they don't want to see the proof the money came from abroad

it would be impossible to have it seasoned for 2 months if I only had 60 days on visa exemption with extension. I think can get 0 visa just showing the money then after it’s seasoned for 2 months can apply for the retirement extension 1 year

Not impossible...if you already have a Thai bank account. I opened mine during quarantine, and for almost two years I used it primarily for deposits when the rate was good, and using the BK Bank ATM cash withdrawals when I made trips. I applied for the Non-O at CB Immigration recently after the 800k was seasoned. Take a Thai person with you that can speak English to you, that helped me along with the help from this group.

it depends on the immigration office you plan to use. Most don't require the money to be seasoned to apply for the initial 90 day Non-O visa but some do, particularly Jomtien. You need to visit your local immigration office and ask them for their requirements

I keep fingers crossed your plan will succeed

it would be possible because you can get a 30 days extension on the tourist visa, however on a very tight schedule. And it is also doable on a visa exempt, just need a border run and another visa-exempt entry. That's why everybody says, visit your immigration and ask for the handout of their requirements for the "change of visa type" from TR to 90-days Non-O visa

Agree with
@Kool ******
. You probably will need a TM30 filed

Actually go to your local immigration office and ask them. Then you get the correct answers for your questions related to the local office based on your TM30 on file with them.

Use an agent for 1st one a lot easier

or at least take a Thai friend if you do not speak Thai. That helped me a lot for my NonO.
