TLDR : Answer Summary
After obtaining your O-visa, you generally need to wait until you have 30 days or fewer left on your current visa before applying for a 1-year retirement extension. Some immigration offices, particularly in cities like Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, and Hua Hin, may allow applications to be submitted as early as 45 days prior to expiration.

I’m confused, you have the O-VISA, correct? It has a date when you can renew. Are you asking for the date when you can apply for renewal?

That's right.

Chiang Mai 45 days

At most offices you can apply when you have 30 days or less left on your stamp.

Some offices allow 45 days like Bangkok, ChiangMai, Phuket, Hua Hin.

there are many websites out there, some from actual embassies or consulates that have incorrect information as they are run by different government departments. Phuket allows 45 days prior.

can I apply at Patong office or only phuket town office?

@Phil ****
Long term extensions only at the Phuket Town office. Patong and Blue Tree only handle tourist type stuff.

so I don't understand why it's on their webpage.... !?

OK. You’ve been told by a volunteer that works there. You’ve been told by a few others that that’s their policy. Why question it. I’ve given you the link to the requirements. We can argue until the cows come home. In Phuket you can apply 45 days prior to your stamp running out. Get over it. That’s the rule there.

I always do it early and most earliest is 30 days here in Phuket.
