Well then you are being lucky to live in a province where they follow the specifications given by Thai law. But I don‘t know any province where they don‘t charge for a CoR at least 200 thb, some even charge 500. I think it depends if you want to take it with you same day. I‘ll try next time to tell them they can take their time so I don‘t have to pay.
Same procedure, ask your accomodation (Hotel, rented room landlord) for the copy of the TM30 and take that to immigration with passport copies and 2 actual photos, fill out the TM47 form there with the purpose.
If you are on visa exemption or tourist visa, be aware that you will not be able to open a bank account. But you will be able to get a drivers licence
They don‘t staple the Certificate of Residency in your passport, what you meant was obvously the TM30. (and/or 90 days report). And I just wanted to correct it, as the OP asked about CoR and not TM30. Just to avoid misunderstandings ok?
