TLDR : Answer Summary
There is mixed information regarding whether holders of the DTV visa are required to make the 90-day reporting to immigration in Thailand. Some expats assert that all visa holders, including those with DTV visas, must comply with the 90-day reporting requirement, as no exemption is mentioned in the law governing DTV visas. Others cite past discussions or statements suggesting that DTV holders may not have to report, referring to a legitimate source that states otherwise. Without official confirmation from immigration authorities or consulates, the consensus leans towards the necessity of reporting for DTV holders, similar to most other visa types, except for the LTR visa, which has specific exemptions.
I just looked at the Los Angeles Thai consulate website for visa information. Early in the website they have a notice to foreigners that they have to report to immigration every 90 days. This informational notice makes no reference to visa types. It applies to all foreigners.
Later under the LTR visa, in addition to to requirements for the various types of LTR visa, they also post the BOI graphic specifically mentioning that 90 day reporting has been extended to 1 year reporting for LTR visa holders.
No other visa type, including O, OA, and DTV has any mention of modification of the 90 day reporting requirement.
The website tells you that you have to do 90 day reports. That requirement applies to every visa type (including the DTV) except the LTR where the adjustment is specifically mentioned.
Unless you can show a consulate website that says otherwise or something printed in the Royal Gazette that says otherwise then you can safely assume that DTV holders have to do 90 day reports. The first report has to be done in person.
The good news is that if you fail to do your 90 day report and get caught then you are only going to pay a 2,000 baht fine. They are not going to take your visa away or deport you.

I just listened to the live show of TNT (Tim Newton) and he just said at Min 40:55 with DTV you don't even have to do the 90-day reporting. I still can't find the source of this statement.

It seems that a large law firm is uncertain, but it’s reasonable to assume that the immigration office handling you has authority over your compliance in Thailand. Since immigration offices can have slightly different procedures, if they are requesting information, you should provide it as required.
Let’s be honest, other than our own experiences which there is zero, this is a question for immigration. I don’t see how people can be so blatant with their yes or no, it’s up to the individuals who have these visas to contact immigration and ask.

The only visa that doesn’t require 90 day reports is the LTR and it was specifically mentioned as a benefit of the LTR. If there is no explicit mention of a 90 day report exemption for the DTV then it is a good bet that you have to do 90 day reports like all the other visas.
The people I know with an Elite Visa bought before the price increase and love the no hassle visa. I think if you live in Bangkok they assist with the 90 reports.
I’ve got an LTR but had to do a 1 year report in June.
elite you have to do a 90 day report. Yes in bangkok you can drop your PP in to their office and they do it for you. Remember also after first time you do a 90 day report you can do it on line and it takes minutes
and you can extend it for another 180 days at immigration for 1990 baht . And go out of the kingdom and return into the country , you get stamped for another 180 days , and repeat . All this info was captured on a video , between the Thai foreign affairs officer and Chris from RW4U ... If unconvinced, go locate that video and see 4 yourself
from the interview that Chris from Retired Working 4 U , with the Thai foreign affairs officer, the listed the requirements , did not asked for TM 30 and the 90 days reporting
Why should he, this isn't the most important matter, of course every longterm visa holder hast to file TM30 and 90 days reporting. Why should someone with longterm Visa and even workpermit have to deal with this, and DTV holders don't? There is no sensible reason.
have you seen the tube of Retired working for you guy. He interviewed the head of the visa section in foreign affairs, he explained all the visa requirements, good interview
