TLDR : Answer Summary
The cost of a Certification of Residence (CoR) in Thailand varies significantly depending on the immigration office and location. While it is officially stated to be free, many individuals report having to pay fees ranging from 200 baht to 500 baht, and in some cases, even higher amounts up to 1500 baht. The pricing may also depend on whether one opts for express service, with some offices charging for faster processing. Experiences shared within the community suggest that it's common to pay around 300 to 500 baht, but there are instances where individuals received it for free, especially in more rural areas.

Depends on what office you go to

How much does a cup of coffee cost ?Ɓ (ie it doesn't really matter does it, if you want it)

Whatever, you'll have enough change in your pocket to pay for it. Or is it a case of, if its free you'll get one, or maybe if its 200 maximum. But at 500, no way.. they are taking liberties. I don't understand what you will decide upon with any answer(s). You need it. Its dirt cheap. So........

Officially it’s free, and you won’t get a receipt if you pay, so draw your own conclusions - if you want it immediately you pay otherwise they make you wait up to a week depending on the office , Phuket it’s a week or B200……

Thanks Sue. I guess I had/have one but didn't know it by that name. It's dreadful getting old!

You don't need one unless you are applying for something, eg Thai driving licence, in which case it's one of the application requirements.

Dave ProcterThanks Dave. Maybe I got one at sone stage because I've had a driver's license since 2018.

Depends on which immigration office you use, some charge, some do not, personally I have never had to pay for one at Phetchaburi immigration office, which services Cha-am.

Go to the office and ask. They are all different

You can’t find an official rate because there isn’t one. From free to 1500 baht

It depends where - as always in Thailand. Officially it should be free. And it is. But in most places, if you want it free they make you wait weeks for it and will send it to the respective address. In some places, like Chinag Mai, you slip 500 THB with the application - and you can collect it the next day. Amazing Thailand. Or just look at it with good will as an express surcharge. That whole CoR BS needs to go as it does not make any sense. All it is is a letter stating what visa you are on (as clearly indicated in your passport) and where you live (as already confirmed in your TM.30 receipt).

It costs as much as it costs depending on your immigration office, the day you go, the way you receive it and who helps you there.

Each immigration office has different policies. It's free at some and costs money at others.

Some days some services are offered at certain offices (express same day, express next day, receive in mail in 2-3 weeks) and all have different prices.

Sometimes you might get someone who charges you and sometimes you might get someone who doesn't charge you.

There is no real answer to your question. Bring 500 baht and go to immigration and ask for one.

Jomtien 300 baht

hope so I'm there in the morning getting mine for my driving license I can live with 300 😊

it is. If you want car and bike license immigration will tell you you need two certificates. This is incorrect. DLT accepts a copy when applying for both at the same time. Saves you 300 baht.

It could vary between immigrations. I’ve got several for free from the police (immigration) at the country side, but it’s not a huge cost anyway. Seen feedbacks on 200 and 300 baht.
