What are the health insurance requirements for extending an O-A visa in Thailand, and is AIA Health coverage sufficient?

ORIGINAL POSTER
AIA Health Happy and O-A visa extension.

Hi, I'm gonna extend by second time my O-A visa. For the first 2 years I got AXA Easy Care but it has a very high deductible what make it basicly useful only for visa purposes.

I want to get a better health insurance and AIA matches feels quite interesting.

However they don't have a plan designed for O-A as AXA has.

If I'm not wrong insurance requirements are 400k for inpatient and 40k for outpatient.

AIA offers 25M coverage but about outpatient it says "2k per visit up to 30 times a year". I wonder if this is accepted by immigration.

Anybody else with similar case?

OA extensions require 3 million baht health insurance coverage, the old rule was 400,000 baht inpatient coverage, but that changed a few years ago.

Pacific Cross is one of the approved OA visa insurance providers and would be worth looking into.

I would suggest checking out Pacific Cross. I've been with them for years. Loads of priceworthy plans/covers. Their customer service for expats is really good.

A Non-OA based extension of stay requires 3 million baht insurance cover, no separate covid insurance required. The requirements changed a few years ago.

2k per visit up to 30x per year = 60k/year 😉

Easier and better to exit then start again on a Non-O as extending a Non-OA means you have to meet two requirements every year, the mandatory Thai insurance and the financial requirements such as 800k seasoned.
