Only Bangkok bank shows up as an international transfer to Thailand using Wise.

From what I know wise uses Bkk bank as their main local branch.

If you use another bank it first goes through Bkk bank and after appears as a local transfer.

(I’d open a Bangkok bank account and confirm it will show up as overseas transfer)

You must select “money sent for long term visa” on wise.

The method it is removed from your USA account is up to you during the transaction. Each method has a different fee.

Yes. It’s typical 2 business days or less for transfers by wise (holiday on either end can slow it down)

for USA? No, because I know people who have flown there just to get vaccinated- and done so in the Miami airport without leaving and flown out right after.

Where is your transit? I know in some airports you can get vaccinated/boosters. Miami airport does shots even for non USA passport holders.

my friend got his re-entry permit at BKK airport this morning at 1am. They did ask for 1 photo. But otherwise normal procedure. Side note. He said it took 1.5 hours in queue for check in. Give yourself enough time as they are slow on checking documents for all travelers.

I think it depends on how long she wants to stay. Pretty sure tourist visa is 6 months max (?) Another Canadian friend got a marriage visa for his thai wife and she got 2.5 years. I’m working on mine for my Spanish partner but Thai is different from EU. But this group is for visas for Thailand. Better to ask in the Canadian group for people who has returned this year with their Thai partners.

Join this group. Has so much firsthand info about flying USA to Thailand now. Re-entering from the USA (or anywhere) is not as easy process. Could take weeks to months and will likely cost around 100-150k. Emirates is flying now as well as repatriation flights.

If you got your 30 day Covid extension. Hopefully you can get a 2nd embassy letter and do a 2nd 30 day Covid extension to have time to season your money (??) and not have to leave

Satun is stamping everyone 15 days under consideration starting on Sept 26. So everyone is getting a stamp to return on the same day Oct 11. FYI to folks in the south.
