Not sure this is the right group for this question but I'll throw it out there...

Does my new Thai spouse need to change from a TOURIST visa (which she already has) to a SPOUSAL visa in order to travel to Canada soon? πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry pertains to whether a Thai national on a tourist visa needs to convert to a spousal visa to travel to Canada. Community responses highlighted a relevant government link for visa information and shared personal visa experiences, although a suggestion was made to seek answers in a more appropriate group for Canadian visa inquiries.

Yes, this is the wrong group. I suggest asking here:

I think it depends on how long she wants to stay. Pretty sure tourist visa is 6 months max (?) Another Canadian friend got a marriage visa for his thai wife and she got 2.5 years. I’m working on mine for my Spanish partner but Thai is different from EU. But this group is for visas for Thailand. Better to ask in the Canadian group for people who has returned this year with their Thai partners.
